Introduction: Cinderella Straps
I have the Cinderella Syndrome. Can´t wear pumps, I lose them all the time. Doesn´t even have to be twelve o´clock!
But now there is a cure: the Cinderella straps! They keep your pumps on your feet and look good doing it!
Step 1: Once Upon a Time Neither Long Ago Nor Far Away
This is what you'll need:
- Pumps
- Some Pieces of leather
- Good sharp scissors
- 4 rings
- A Socketpunch
- A pair of Shoelaces
I'm lucky enough to own a leather-sewingmachine which is perfect for these kind of things. If you don't have one you can sew them by hand or use fabric. (Denim should be nice.)
You can either use the pattern or draw one yourself: the front is 20 cm long and 7 cm wide at the widest point. The smallest point at the ends is 3 cm.
the underside is 20 cm long and 3 cm wide.
Step 2: Decoration
It's not necessary but I think it's a nice touch: Draw a decoration and cut it out using the socketpunch and scissors.
Step 3: Assembling the Front
Sew one side.
Shove two rings on the piece and sew the other side.
Turn the piece and sew the outlines. The rings will stay in place that way.
I've also sewn the outlines of the decoration while I was at it.
Step 4: The Underside
Put the underside through the rings, fold it and sew it.
Turn it and shove the seam to the middle of the back so you won't see it. Sew the outlines.
Step 5: She Who Fits the Shoe
That's it! Time to put them on.
Shove them around the shoe and put the shoelaces through the rings.
Tie them at the back and you're ready for the ball!

thus eliminating the dread heel slippage. I have small narrow feet and any shoe with a heel that is not tied down will slip on me......you my dear are now my shoe goddess

This is really cool! Do you think it would also work with ballet flats?

Thank you :D
It would work, but I expect that the underside will get dirty and wear out real fast. It touches the ground as you walk. This doesn't happen with high heels.
But you could turn the strap so that the underside is at the back of the heel and the shoelace goes under the shoe. The shoelace will still wear out but it's easy to replace :)
