Introduction: Cinnamon Swirl Buns

These are so tasty and smell amazing. The smell fills the kitchen in the best way possible. I really recommend making these.

For the bread base

3 cups flour

1/3 cup sugar

3 teaspoons yeast

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup water

for the cinnamon filling

butter

sugar

cinnamon

Step 1: Dry Ingredients

Combine your dry ingredients in a large bowl

3 cups flour

1/3 cup sugar

3 teaspoons yeast

You could definitely add more sugar if you prefer a sweeter dough.

Step 2: Wet Ingredients

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup melted butter

Melt your butter in a microwave or over heat

Add hot water to make up the cup measurement

Incorporate into dry ingredients

Step 3: Rise

Ive found this doesn't really need to rise. I let these rise for 10 minutes whilst I make the filling and I find it does the trick.

I put the photos next to each other so you can see exactly the progress made in 10 minutes.

Step 4: Cinnamon Filling

Over low heat combine

sugar

butter

cinnamon

There are no exact measurements its down to preference. If you don't make enough that's fine also as you can sprinkle cinnamon sugar on dry patches.

Step 5: Cinnamon Filling Cooking

cook over low heat and stir every now and then it shouldn't stick to the pan. However should bubble a little. I cannot put into words how good this smells.

Step 6: Roll Your Dough

Leave the sauce over low heat whilst you roll out your dough.

Flour a surface - I used the silicone sheet I baked them on.

Roll the dough to an even thickness in a rectangular shape.

Around 5mm thick

Step 7: Pour + Spread

Pour and spread the cinnamon mixture over the dough.

The mixture is hot so be safe. It doesn't have to be extremely even as long as its all covered.

Step 8: Optional :cinnamon Sugar

You may wish to sprinkle cinnamon sugar also. Good if you have any blank spots if the sauce wasn't spread thin enough. Not essential however a nice touch.

Step 9: Roll

Take your dough and roll it.

If you roll from the width you get less however bigger cinnamon buns.

If you roll from the length you get more however smaller cinnamon buns.

Make sure your roll is even - make sure the edges and middle are the same.

Take your time - you don't need to be fast.

Step 10: Trim and Bake.

Trim the edges off to even up your buns.

Cut into equal sized buns.

Bake for 30-35 minutes at 200/400 degrees

Step 11: Done

When baking the cinnamon sugar smells absolutely gorgeous. Once baked leave to cool for a little however these are amazing warm. When cut in half you can see the swirl pattern.
