Circuit Board Decoration

We created this circuit board for a float prop.

Step 1: Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

large sheet of cardboard

green spray paint

silver paint

small paint brushes

projector and computer

Step 2: Step 2: Prepare Cardboard

Take your sheet of card board to a well ventilated area and spray paint it green. We did a few coats of the green paint over a period of two days so it would have a chance to dry on the cardboard. Once you are happy with the colour let dry overnight.

Step 3: Step 3: Cut

Once the green is dry, cut the cardboard to the desired shape. We cut ours into two squares which we stuck together back to back when we were finished. This made our circuit board two sided.

Step 4: Step 4: Set Up Projector.

Clear a space and set up your projector. We found an image of a circuit board online and projected it onto our green cardboard.

Now comes the tough part. Using a very small fine paint brush and silver metallic paint paint the lines of the circuit board which are being projected. Then let dry.

Step 5: Step 5: Assembly

When the silver paint is dry it is time to assemble the board. fold a large piece of cardboard in half and glue to backside of one circuit board. The open edges of the folded pieces of cardboard should be hanging below the bottom edge of the circuit board. Now glue the back side of the second circuit board to the backside of the first board.

Tape around the edges, for extra security.

Fold out the edges of the hanging pieces of cardboard, these become the stand for the board.

Punch two holes in the top of the circuit board, near each edge. Thread the rope through. Punch two holes on each end of the stand, threading the rope through there and securing with knots.
