Intro: Clean Your Rusted Old Equipment

HEY EVERYONE THIS IS MY FIRST INSTRUCTABLE SO BEAR WITH MY MISTAKES.... AND I HOPE U ALL LIKE IT...... :)

TODAY I WILL BE RESTORING AN OLD RUSTED PITCH GAUGE.......

WE DONT REALLY USE IT MUCH HENCE ALL THE RUST....

STEP 1: All the Required Tools for the Whole Process

here are photos of all the stuff that you need to clean your old iron articles.

STEP 2: Mixing the Ingredients....

Take about a litre of water and mix the whole of the citric acid powder in it......the ratio of water to acid powder depends on how fast u want to clean the item.... u can add a sufficient amount of acid with a little amount of water but make sure that the water remains liquid and does not turn into a paste kind of or it becomes difficult to work with....

STEP 3: Add Ur Metal Items in the Mixture

place all ur parts in the acidic solution and try to keep them submerged coz u dont want them to be rusted at just one spot....

STEP 4: SCRUB SCRUB SCRUB

Now take ur brass brush and hold the in ur hand or how ever ur are comfortable with and scrub them till u get ur desired shine...... this happens fast because of the chemical reaction and the rust come off easily.....

STEP 5: Some Before and After

here are a few photos showing the before and after of the item....

STEP 6: After Scrubbing

after scrubbing them well immediately put them in water and wash them well followed by wiping dry with a clean cloth..... after they are dry oil them with the oil u have...

SORRY NO PICS OF THE WASHING AND DRYING PROCESS.... DEAD BATTERY....

STEP 7: Assembling the Set

after oiling the well all u have to do is just assemble them back and they as good as new....

STEP 8: The Finished Thing

after u have assembled everything u are good to go....

Nice tip..

You seemed to have your elbow resting on the caps lock key in the intro and step 6.

All caps makes for harder reading and is considered shouting, just saying. :)
