Cleaning the Walls

Introduction: Cleaning the Walls

When I was moving out of my old apartment I had to do a very thorough cleaning of everything. This included wiping down all of the walls. I had never really had to clean my walls excessively so I tried to find some good techniques to clean walls. Here is the technique I was able to use for cleaning my walls

Step 1: Mix Water and Vinegar

I started by getting my wiping mixture ready.

Instead of using soap I learned that a great cleaning method is to just add 1/2 cup of vinegar to a half gallon of warm water.

I used this mixture with a rag to scrub down my walls, which worked really well.

Step 2: For Black Marks

Of course from wear and tear I found some black marks on my wall that I had to get rid of before moving out.

The trick here is to use a little bit of baking soda on the mark.

the baking soda will react with the vinegar and work to remove the stain.

I was actually surprised at the effectiveness of this technique.

Step 3: Clean Your Walls

One tip that I learned while scrubbing down my walls is that I should clean the walls more often.

Its really not something that I ever thought got dirty, but after looking at the water I had I knew how much grime really festered on the walls

By cleaning walls yearly you can really reduce on the amount of dirt that hangs around your home.
