Intro: Coffee Cup Coffee Pot

 This Instructable is for the hard working business men and women who need there coffee a.s.a.p.

STEP 1: The Ingredients

For this you'll need:


.1ft of aluminum foil
. 2-3 paper coffee cups
. 1 AA or AAA battery
. 12 in of 2 different colored wire
. 1 rubber band
. 1 box cutter (optional)

STEP 2: Next Step, the Beginning Construction

 Cut 2 small holes for the wires and through the top, add the aluminum foil to the inside of the first cup. Make sure there are no rough edges and the foil doesn't go over the sides of the cup.

STEP 3: Let's Do This!

 Now, add the wires to the cup. Push the through the foil but only through 2 layers.

STEP 4: The BIG Finish!

 This is you final step. Add the battery to the wires and wrap the rubber band around both poles so th wires will stay in place.

STEP 5: Just a Picture.

 This is just what it would look like with the rubber band on it.

I honestly applaud the kid for having an imagination, so far the only thing kids know these days is smartphones and video games etc. So I made a real self heating thermos, most of the work is already done, I just removed inner foam so the outer area could be filled with water. the heat rises from a coil placed under the glass with a basic on and off switch and temperature setting. I'll try and make another so I can paste an instructable.

This isn't actually suppose to do anything. a child asked me to create this post for him. Honestly I told him it wouldn't make sense, but he insisted. So just to make this kid happy I took some pictures he drew in paint, and wrote the instructions. I told him there were plenty of other ways to make hot water but like I said, he's a child. long story short its here but its not gonna do any good, honestly it was just fun to see the kid smile, he posted something and liked it.

 i originally use something like a solder- wire coil but i remembered it burning and spilling all the water. so, i used foil instead. i recently tried using cup and put the paper one inside. it's way better

 isn't there a health risk by using aluminum foil? not being sarcastic just simply asking.

 i started out by using a aluminum flashing sheet to wrap the cup but it was really thick and took way to long to heat.

As far as I can see, the most this will do is flatten the battery very quickly.

Don't use the foil, use a coil of nichrome wire in the bottom of the cup.
