Introduction: Color Feathered Macaw Papercraft

Macaws are a group of New World parrots that are long-tailed and often colorful.They are popular in aviculture or as companion parrots, although there are conservation concerns about several species in the wild

Macaws and their feathers have attracted the attention of people throughout history, most notably in pre-Columbian civilizations such as the Inca, Wari and Nazca. Macaw feathers were highly desired for their bright colors and acquired through hunting and trade. Feathers were often used as adornment and were found at both ceremonial and burial sites.

Here we go the preparation process and the steps to make the hanging Macaw

Step 1: Making Video of Color Feathered Macaw

Step 2: Supplies Required

Color Papers (based on the color you choose)

Scissor

Pencil (Preferably 2HB)

Fevicol (Gum)

Marker (Black Color)

Measuring Scale

Cutter

Step 3: Initial Paper Cutting

- Use the pencil and draw the shape of the Macaw head

- Take the scissor and cut the color paper (Based on the bird color you choose) using the shape showed in the picture. Try to follow the Video attached to know how to cut the paper

Step 4: Feathers Preparation

- With the help of different color papers and using scale and cutter/scissor, cut the papers into straight lines with different lengths as shown in the picture

- Attach these feathers to the head of the macaw

Step 5: Make Ready the Nose

- Take the black paper and draw the shape of the nose using the pencil

- By using pencil mark, cut the paper in a shape of nose.

- In a similar way take a white paper and cut into a crescent shape add that to nose.

- Attach this Nose to the previous step and it will be like the picture as shown above

Step 6: Feather Foldings

- Take the individual feather and use spring folding and do it for all as per the picture attached.

Step 7: Make Wing to Macaw

- use a white paper and mark the shape of the wing using pencil

- Cut the paper as per the marking and attach to the head of the macaw as shown in the picture

Step 8:

- By using a thread/elastic thread, attach to the macaw which we have prepared and can tie it to where you want.

Here you go the final Macaw as shown in the picture.
