Introduction: Come Fly With Me

All Europeans have a version of Angel Wings they call their own. Delicate, citrus scented, fried heavenly wings. Always a crowd pleaser. Double the batch as you're likely to eat one on your own. Super addicting!

Supplies

1 Tbsp. Butter melted

2 lg eggs whole, 5 egg yolks

3 Tbsp. white sugar

11/2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. each lemon and orange ext (optional, you can up the zests)

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 tsp. distilled vinegar (can be white, apple cider, I had rice wine)

1 Tbsp. rum

3 Tbsp. sour cream

1 tsp. each lemon and orange zest

2-3 cups of flour

oil to fry and icing sugar to sprinkle, rolling pin

Step 1: Let's Make It Happen!

Use a mixer with a dough hook. Toss all the ingredients together, then add the flour slowly until you have a smooth ball. Not sticky of too stiff. Depending on the size of your eggs you'll need most likely the entire 3 cups. Knead for 5 min until smooth. Roll and cover to rest for 30 min.

Roll out as thinly as possible. Cut into 4"x11/2" rectangles. Make slit in the center, pull one end through the slit. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Heat shortening, oil or lard to 360 and fry approx. 30 sec - 1 min per side until lightly golden. Drain on cooling rack.

Sprinkle with icing sugar.

Store in tightly covered bags. If serving right away stack the dusted wings ontop of each other and enjoy
