How to Make Lighter With Hotwheels Car

In this Instructable of ¿COMO SE HACE? I show step by step how to meke an zippo type lighter with recycled material.

My design it´s about a little cannon car and I will add a lighter that simulates a man that will be inside the cannon.

Supplies

Conventional Lighter

Hotwheels car or any other car toy

Tubes, valves and copper plugs

Zippo wick

Cotton

Lighter Fluid

Sandpaper

Drill

Spray Paint

Supper Glue

Masking tape

Hacksaw

Plumber lighter

solder

Plastic Plug

Cutter

Step 1: Disassemble of the Conventional Lighter

We need to take the conventional lighter "a recycled one" only need to use the little part "flint thumb wheel"

applying force we can pull out this component.

Step 2: Make a Lighter Container With Copper Stuffs

In this point we are going to use the tube, valve and cooper tube to assy the container of the lighter fluid, if we need to modify any spec of the components before the soldering, this is the step.

Step 3: Drill the Cooper Plug

Once our container is mounted in the car toy and the parts are ok, need to make a hole in the cooper plug, this will be the hole where the wick pass through.

the first you need is to mark a point in the cooper plugh then drill it.

Step 4: Soldering of the Copper Stuffs

Now we have all the parts completed to soldering each other

once we solder all part we can sand the part to remove excess solder and no to have problems at moment to paint.

Note: ¡NEED TO BE CARE ABOUT THE LIGHTER AND USE PROTECTION!

Step 5: Dril a Hole in the Hotwheel Car

At this step need to drill our hotwheels car where it will be installed the flint thumb wheel

Step 6: Place Wick, Cotton and Plastic Plug to Container

ALMOST DONE!

Now we need to place the wick with spiral shape inside the container and pass through the hole.

then add some cotton.

Finally close the container with the plastic plug

Step 7: Paint Design

ART DESIGN

In my design i just painted with red and black and added some line design to the container and the car cannon

this is optional you could make your own design if you want.

Step 8: Assembly of All Components

!FINAL STEP¡

With all the part completed we just need to join together each.

take the flint thumb wheel and place in the hole we made in the car.

once we installed, need to join the 2 pieces of the cannon and remove the tape.

With the supper glue we add to the joints of the cannon to the car and flint thumb wheel too, just to ensure do not loose the parts.

¡Now you finished your lighter!
