Corona Salt and Pepper Shakers

Intro: Corona Salt and Pepper Shakers

We recently went out to eat at a Mexican Food Restaurant, which is a treat for us because we don't go out to eat very often. My husband reached for the salt and pepper shakers and poured some over his food. He exclaimed!  " Now, these are some salt and pepper shakers!"  So I examined the lid and knew drilling small holes in bottle caps would work just as well. I purchased the salt and pepper shakers from the restaurant for $4.00. I went out today looking for bottle caps for this instructable and could not find any. I decided to go ahead and post this instrucatble simulating how to make them.

STEP 1: Supplies

2 Empty Corona bottles
2 Bottle caps
Funnel optional
Salt
Pepper
You can use regular bottle caps and drill the holes yourself or order them here with the holes pre-drilled.

STEP 2: Tools

1/16" Drill bit and extension
Power Drill optional

STEP 3: Drilling Holes

Drill the holes in the bottle caps the size and number you want.
I gave 2 shakes to each shaker and you can see how much came out using the purchased caps.
We thought they worked great!

STEP 4: Filling the Bottles

Fill the bottles using a funnel or what you have on hand.

STEP 5: Sunshiine's Final Thoughts

There you have it! 2 very usable shakers that work great using glass beer bottles or what ever you like and some bottle caps.

In closing I would like to thank our instructables company, sponsors, authors, readers, and members; for making this community a great success! Many hours and hard work has been put into making this place the best DIY on the Internet. Have fun and thanks for stopping by!

"2 Bottle caps"...
What kind of caps are these???
2 Bottle caps one for each salt and pepper. The ones pictured I assume are made for the Corona beer bottles and already have the holes made. You can buy them at a bar supply or at the link I posted. If you are making your own, I know they sell them without the holes but I am sorry I don't recall where I saw them. It may have been Walmart. I saw them hanging on a hook on an isle and almost bought them. They were designed for pop bottles. Thanks for commenting and have a great day!
