Introduction: Creamy Crab Mac
This Creamy Crab Mac dish is easy to make and clean up using a box of Macaroni and Cheese. Leftovers keep nicely in the refrigerator for about a week and make handy, tasty lunches. You can eat cold or warm it up in the microwave. If you want a gluten free version you only need to substitute a box of gluten free Macaroni and Cheese.
Ingredients:
- 1 box macaroni and cheese dinner
- 3 tbsp. milk
- 3 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise (can substitute sour cream, cream cheese or plain Greek yogurt)
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard (can substitute Dijon mustard)
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 8-ounce package imitation crab meat (can substitute leftover shrimp, scallops or imitation lobster)
This makes 2-4 servings.
Supplies:
- a 2-cup measuring cup
- a 1/2 cup measuring cup
- 1 teaspoon
- 1/2 teaspoon
- 8 cup pan
- stirring spoon
Step 1:
- Boil water
- Add box of macaroni
- Cook
- Add butter. Wait to melt.
- Add milk.
Step 2:
- fold in mayonnaise
- fold in mustard
- add lemon juice
- stir until creamy
Step 3:
- Gently fold in imitation crab
Step 4:
- Spoon into bowls
- Add crushed potato chips
Step 5:
Serve at room temperature or microwave for a warmer dish.
