Introduction: DIY Audi Style Sequential Turn Signal Indicators for Bike

About: Hi every one, I make cool stuff for you guys! Follow me here.

Hello everyone!
Today I will show you step by step that how you can make Audi style turn signal indicators for your car/bike by using some very simple and easily available components. For better understanding, I would like to recommend you to watch this video before you start making.

Step 1: Introduction and Working

This circuit is based on a NE555 timer IC and LM3914 dot bar LED driver IC. Timer IC help us to create blinking and fading effect for LEDs and LM3914 helps to drive all LEDs in a sequential mode. we can change the blinking and fading speed, Fall and Rise time by turning on board potentiometers. This project is consist of 2 circuit boards, you can use this pair at left side or right side as front and back indicators.

Step 2: List of Components

Here is a list of Components for both PCBs:

List of Components For PCB 1:
U1 = LM3914

U2 = NE555

Q1 = BC547

Q2 = D882

C1 = 220uf/25v

R1-R11,R14 = 1K

R12 = 47K

R13 = 4.7K

R = 10K

DELAY = 50K POT

MODE = 100K POT

PR2 = 50K POT

5MM Yellow Ultra bright LEDs x20 (Use good quality LEDs)

List of Components For PCB 2:
U1 = LM3914

R1-R10 = 1K

R12 = 4.7K

R11 = 47K

R = 10K

MODE = 100K POT

PR1 = 50K Pot

5MM Yellow Ultra bright LEDs x20 (Use good quality LEDs)

and some extra indicators for your Car/Bike.

Step 3: Circuit Diagram and PCBs

To make this project, you also need a circuit diagram, which you can download from here for free!

Circuit Diagram 1= http://www.mediafire.com/file/8t2l4loclj2t3i8/Sche...

Circuit Diagram 2= http://www.mediafire.com/file/oyhjndwwufbjmr6/Sche...

After understanding Circuit diagram, of course, you will need a PCB. You can design one according to the size and dimensions of your bike indicators. But if you want same design, then don't worry, you will not need to design it. Here is a solution!
Just go here: https://www.jlcpcb.com/, then upload free PCB Gerber files from the links given below. They are really professional PCB manufacturer and they have the cheapest prices that I have ever found ($2 for 10 pcs of 10 x10 cm boards).

Download Free PCB Gerber Files here:

PCB 2= http://www.mediafire.com/file/mngretlqnnpqbj4/Gerb...

Step 4: Soldering

After collecting all the materials, simply solder all the components to the printed circuit board according to the circuit diagram. It is very simple and easy because there are no special or complicated components used. Start with resistors, then solder pots and ICs and at the end, solder all the LEDs in correct polarity. and that's it!

Step 5: Finalizing

After soldering all components on both PCBs, connect a 12V battery with PCB1 and connect output pins of PCB1 to the input pins of PCB2. Then play with potentiometers to get a good quality output response. After calibration, fix these PCBs into the indicator housing of your car/bike and enjoy the luxury style!
