Introduction: DIY Battery String Light Ties

About: I'm a hippie flower child who loves Led Zeppelin, music in general (seriously though, I'll listen to anything! <3) nature, summertime, and thunderstorms. :)

Hey, y'all! It has been a HOT MINUTE since my last tutorial! Haha. I moved earlier this year due to neighbor issues and it's been a little crazy ever since. But I'm back now! :D

Have your string lights been driving you up a wall on a yearly basis? They love to get intertwined with each other no matter how neatly you pack them at the end of the season? -_-Well, this DIY is for you! :D Let's go!

These ties work with any string lights, battery operated or plug in-I just used Halloween ones because it's spooky season.

Supplies

For this DIY, you need the following:

-Fat quarter

-Interfacing

-Scissors

-Glue stick

-Pins

-Washable pen

-Velcro

-Tie Template

-Matching thread (Or contrasting, if that's how you roll LOL)

-String Lights

Step 1: Tie Preparation

Grab your interfacing, fat quarter, scissors, pins, pen, and your template. Trace around your template onto your fabric and carefully cut it out. Cut a piece of interfacing.

Step 2: One, Two, Sew Up My...Tie?

Haha.

Grab your piece of interfacing and your tie. Iron the interfacing on, then sew around it, leaving a gap for turning. Make sure you clip your corners and trim off excess fabric.

Step 3: Topstitch or Bust

Now topstitch your lovely tie.

Step 4: Stickin' Together Forever

Cut your Velcro and tack it onto your tie. Sew it on.

Step 5: Who's Tyin' Now?

Tie up your lights and enjoy tangle free lights forever! :D

As always, thank you for checking this DIY out! If you recreate it, I'd LOVE to see! Just hit the 'I Made It!" button and I'll check it out. Have a safe and healthy spooky season, y'all! :)
