Introduction: DIY Custom Wall Plates

About: I really like anything crafty, from fiber arts to writing.
Hi guys! This is my first Instructable so any feedback would be much appreciated. I hope you enjoy this decorating idea.

Step 1: Remove Wall Plate

Get a flathead screwdriver and unscrew the nails holding the plate to the wall. Make sure not to lose the screws.

Step 2: Choose Color or Material

Choose a color of paper that will go well with the aesthetic of your room. You can pick a base color and add details on top if you want. Another option is to use a material such as sequins or faux plants. In this Instructable, I will be using faux moss.

Step 3: Clean the Plate

Get the plate and use some cleaning spray and a paper towel to wipe it down.

Step 4: Use Base Color or Your Design

Paint the plate with glue and pick a piece of colored paper to attach it to. Set the paper on top of the plate and make sure to press down the sides. If you aren’t doing a base color, like me, you still paint the plate with glue, but put your material onto the glue. I used faux moss to decorate my plate and I just placed bits of moss onto the gluey plate and waited overnight for it to dry.

Step 5: Put Back on the Wall

Re-screw the plate back onto the wall and enjoy!
