DIY Draft Beer Professional Kegerator

This is an instructable that will tell you how to make your own kegerator that would be the equivalent to one for around £2k!!!!!!! and Im telling you the beer or cider, whatever you wish, is very nice.

Step 1: Step 1: What Will You Need?

You will need a variety of different pieces of equipment:

• fridge/freezer I used a chest freezer as it is large and very convenient if you want to cool the beer quickly. -
• KEG of beer or cider - Booker - https://www.booker.co.uk/pages/Kegs.aspx - go in store to pick it up and easier to choose as well.

Step 2: Step 2: Drilling the Hole

To drill the hole you must mark very carefully the position you want the tower to be.

then circle around the mark using the inside of the tower.

and then drill one big hole one side of the mark within the larger circle and a smaller one.

the larger one is for the tower cooler and the smaller for the pipe which the beer comes up and out the tap.

Step 3: Step 3: Joining the Line

join the air line from the co2 regulator to the coupler as shown in the photos.

on my regulator and the coupler it had a push fit so for these you just simply push the pipe into the fitting.

Step 4: Step 4: Screwing the Tower On

to screw the tower on I just drilled 4 small holes but big enough so the bolts hold.

Step 5: Step 5: Finishing Touches

Next just pull the line from the tower through the Small hole and join it to the coupler.

then plug the tower cooler in to the mains, I had to buy an adaptor to make it fit.

push the pipe of the tower cooler up through the larger hole.

if you have a plug and play thermostat then set this up to the temperature you want the beer to be, this may not be necessary if you have a fridge as this is above freezing point at all times meaning the beer will mainly keep a contant positive temperature but a freezer may freeze the drink which is not good.

place the drip tray in front of the tower and enjoy.

the keg may take up to 2 days to cool down depending on the temperature the fridge/freezer is set on.
