Introduction: DIY Drafting Table

About: Every week two geeky people in Rochester MN spend every ounce of their freetime creating educational videos, podcasts, articles, and music. They publish it all on the internet, free to anyone in the whole univ…

Whisker's long been interested in having a drafting table. So I found a thin slab of granite someone was selling for cheap on Craiglist. It had been sitting for a few months and we finally got some time to work on a drafting table with the slab of granite for the top!

Materials:

  • 36" x 36" x 0.75" slab of granite
  • Spare 2x4's and scrap wood pieces
  • Wood screws - 1.5" and 3" lengths

Power tools used:

  • Bandsaw, drill press, chop saw, sander, router, power drill

It took an afternoon and utilized the existing railing we had! Hope you enjoy watching and find some sort of inspiration from it for your own drafting table!
