DIY Easy Magical Fairy Halloween Costume for Kids

For Halloween, I wanted to create a fairy costume for my little cousin and I thought it would look so cute on her.(She loved it)

Supplies

You will need the following items:

1. Leotard
2. Dance shoes
3. 4 different colors of tulle
4. Fake assortment of flowers
5. spray maint of choice
6. Cloth stem wire
7. Floral tape
8. Elastic band
9. Glitter of choice
10. Extra fabric(not necessary)
11. Pom pom balls
12. 4 wire hangers
13. Sheer stockings
14. Hot glue
15. Folder of choice
16. Card stock
17. Scissors
18. Liquid glue
19. Charms

Step 1: Make the Flower Crown

First make the flower crown:

1. Grab the two pieces of cloth stem wire and twist them to fit the child's head.
2. Wrap the floral tape around the wires.
3. Once that is done create a loop at both ends and add more floral tape to secure it.
4. Next, add the flowers to the end of the wire and secure it with tape. Continue this until the end.
5. Now you have a beautiful flower crown, (if you do not have ribbon you can use a shoelace like in the picture)

Step 2: Make the Tutu

Second make the tutu:

1. First, measure the child's waist and cut the elastic the that size.
2. Next, sew the two ends of elastic together.
3. Now put the elastic band around something round, (you can use a vinegar gallon bottle)
4. Cut the tulle to desired length; fold in in half and put it under the elastic creating a hole at the top
5. Then, put the bottom tulle in the hole and pull until tight, (repeat this step until the whole elastic is covered)
6. Once that is done you have a cute colorful tutu for your kid

This is not necessary:

1. Cut out 12 pieces of triangular fabric
2. Then, hot glue them all around the tutu

Step 3: Make the Fairy Wings

Third make the Wings:

1. Sculpt the bottom and top wings.
2. Cut of the hanger part from the wings.
3. Next, grab your 2 pairs of silk stockings and tight the toes and cut the top of them.
4. flip the stockings inside out and pull it through the wings and hot glue the ends.
5. Now take the card stock and hot glue the wings to the paper.
6. Then, hot glue two pieces of elastic band on each side for the straps.
7. Next, use your color of spray paint and spray along the sides leaving the middle a little exposed.
8. Add your desired amount of flowers and glitter, then your done.

Step 4: Make the Shoes

Forth make the shoes:

1. Grab the dance shoes and two pom pom balls.
2. Simply just glue the pom poms on the front center of the shoes.

Step 5: Make the Wand

Fifth make the wand:

1. take three pieces of stem wire and twist them together,(this makes the wand sturdy.)
2. At the end of one side of the wires wrap it in floral tapes so there are no sharp parts.
3. Cut out you choice of shape, ( I chose a heart but you could also use a star.)
4. Next, hot glue the hearts on the end of the wire with no tape
5. Lastly, add on pom poms, and extra tulle

Step 6: Final Touches

1. I added a charm to the leotard,(I thought it made it way cuter)
