Introduction: DIY Electronics Earrings

About: All what I do I'm doing it for fun 🎩 🎮 My name is Chris, I'm an electronics engineer and a Youtuber who likes : Electrical projects 🔌 3D printing ⚙️ Electronic R&D stuff 🔎 We all know that robots are our …

If you are looking for something like impressive to provide as a gift, decoration or even to wear it by yourself then this project idea could help you to get some inspiration.

I decided to make this Earrings for my girlfriend and offer them to her during the Valentines, this is fully made by made so I believe that she will like it because it will remind her the efforts that I dropped in this project just to make her happy.

I'm also sharing the details about the making step of this Electronics Earrings so you can follow the detailed instruction to make your own one.

Supplies

You will certainly need some electronics related tools to accomplish the work properly and safely.

The needed tools are:

  • Solder iron with a pointy end tip
  • Solder Core wire (small section)
  • Solder wick (not necessary but you may need it)
  • Tweezers (a pointy end one is recommended)

Step 1: The Circuit Design

First and most important step is the circuit design, I said most important because it will represent the whole project shape so any error in the design will make the whole project crash.

I move to EasyEDA to create the circuit schematic (I attached a screen-shot of the made schematic) you can use whatever EDA tool of your choice.

The circuit is so easy based on 24 small package LEDs powered by a CR1220 Coin battery, and a slide switch (for ON/Off).

All the LEDs are connected together in parallel to the coin cell battery.

Once you make the schematic, you move to the circuit board design, make the board outline in the desired shape (in my project I made it in a regular circle shape) and then place all the components inside to finish the routing.

Make sure to keep a hole in your design from where you can clip the earrings to the ear.

Step 2: Ingrediants

The needed electronics components are:

Step 3: The Assembly

After getting the PCB ready, all what we must do now is assemble the electronics components using the tools that I listed in the "Supplies".

You need to carefully pick the LEDs due to their small size and solder them to their spots.

Step 4: Turn It on and Enjoy

Now your Electronics Earring is ready, just turn on the slide switch and enjoy your ready gift.
