Introduction: DIY Halloween Spider-web Decoration
This is a simple and easy way to make your house look spooky this Halloween season!
Supplies
- String or Yarn (White or black look best depending on your wall color)
- Clear Tape
- Scissors
Step 1: Cut Off a Piece of String
Cut a piece of string to desired length. Length will vary depending on the space you have and the size of web you want.
Step 2: Tape to Wall
Tape both ends of the string you cut off to wall. You want it to be secure and fairly tight.
Step 3: Repeat Steps 1 and 2
You will repeat steps 1 and 2 until you have 4 pieces taped on the wall all crossing and meeting in the middle.
Step 4: Tape Down Center
You will want to gather all the pieces of yarn to make one center, and then hold it down to secure their position.
Step 5: Tie Yarn Close to Center
Cut another pice of yarn from medium to long length. Attach it by tying a knot close to the center of the pieces taped on the wall.
Step 6: Loop Loose Yarn Around Secure Pieces
You will need to loop the yarn that you tied on around each one of secured pieces on the wall. It will start to from a spiral.
Step 7: Tie the End
Once you run out of yarn you will just simply tie it to one of the secured strings to keep it from moving out of place.
Step 8: Start a New Strand
After your yarn runs out and you tie it like in step 6, you will simply cut and tie another piece on anywhere you want and continue looping. You will continue Feel free to create imperfections and irregular patterns. These are what will make it look real and more spooky!!
Step 9: Repeat Steps 5-8
Repeat steps 5 through 8 until your whole area is covered with the design. It should look something like this.
Step 10: Cut Off Hanging Parts
On the ends that you tied you probably left some strands hanging down. Make sure to cut all of those off as close as possible to make it look more realistic.
Step 11: Remove Tape
Remove that tape that you placed in the center of the web earlier.
Step 12: Done!
Feel free to attach some fake spiders if you have them to make it even more creepy.
