Introduction: DIY Jewelry Organizer

At some point I was in need of a quick jewelry organizer and threw this together in about 30 minutes. I was low on space and decided to make something I could hang up.Finally! Another use for all those old calendars you may have laying around.

Materials

  • Chosen picture - an old calendar picture is perfect, I used some extra paper to help spruce up the edges.
  • Cardboard
    • Bonus: you still have the cardboard that came with the picture and now don't have to cut anything.
  • Various sized wood clothespins
  • Scissors
  • Glue - I used a glue stick and a strong glue for attaching the clothespins

Optional

Something to punch holes with - I used a small crochet hook

Something to hang jewelry holder from the wall; I used 2 large clothespins and hung it from my calendar

Step 1: Glue Picture to Cardboard

If you like you can make this a collage or keep it simple and pick just one picture. Cut paper as needed. I used some scrap booking paper to help cover the hole the comes in the calendar page and to make the edges look a little nicer.

Step 2: Poke Holes

Use your tool of choice (you can use scissors) to punch holes into the cardboard to hold your earrings. I made a pattern to accentuate parts of my chosen background with two holes about 1 centimeter apart; I used a small crochet hook to get a nice round hole.

Step 3: Glue Clothespins

I used various sized clothespins glued mostly around the outside of my poster to hold necklaces and bracelets.

Step 4: Attach Hanger of Choice

After letting your clothespins dry to the board you can decide how to hang it. I just used two clothespins on the back and hung this from my calendar. You can easily use a string to hang this up as well.

Step 5: Finish

Hang and add jewelry.
