Introduction: DIY Jumper Wires
Sometimes you run out of jumper wires. In that case it may be convenient to make them yourself.
Since I wasn't able to make reliable wires in a way that was previously described (https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-jumper...)
I looked for an alternative. The following method worked for me.
What's needed:
- Female headers
- Wire
- Shrink tube
- Soldering iron / solder
Step 1:
a) Cut the legs of the female headers at the right length
b) Pull the shortened legs out
c) Strip the wire at both ends
d) Solder the cut 'leg' to the wire for a male jumper wire end;
solder the 'fork' to the wire for a female jumper wire end.
e) cut 2 small pieces of the shrink tube and apply them to both ends
Your jumper wire is ready!
