Step 1: Consulting

Before making a box, for your self or for someone else. Think about what you what the box would be for, how big the box should be, who is gonna use it, where is it gonna go? Make as many drafts and make and at the end choose the one that you think fits best.

Step 2: Time to Design

This Link will take you to a website that will make a perfect box for you. (You just need length, height, with, and thickness of the material.) Download it and use your vector program so you can add and take out anything.

(Note: I used Gravit designer )

Step 3: Download

Once the design is done download your file. (Note: Depending on your laser cutter choose what file to download the file in) I downloaded it as a .svg on Gravit and converted it to a .ai file (Instruction down below) and I was ready to cut.

Step 4: Acrylic

Take your acrylic to laser cutter ready to print. (Check that your design will fit in your acrylic piece)

Step 5: Safety Steps

These next steps vary on from laser cutter to laser cutter, but you must ALWAYS wear your safety equipment when using it, and you are ready to cut.

Step 6: Cleaning Cut Pieces

Once you design is cut you should clean out with a towel and some rubbing alcohol so the burned parts of the acrylic get cleaned.

Step 7: Gluing

Take out gloves and the acrylic glue you will be using. (I used fast set Clear, medium bodied solvent cement) Tip, practice first before gluing your parts together it can get messy. Glue your pieces toghether.

Step 8: Waiting

Once the glue has dried out with the recommended time, you want to clean your box one more time, with soap and water and then let it air dry.

Step 9: FINISHED

YOU ARE DONE!!! The box is ready to be used.
