DIY Perler Bead Bowl

Intro: DIY Perler Bead Bowl

This is a super easy craft to make and it's fun to do with your kids! (Be careful doing this with small children may be a chocking hazard) You can use this for organization or for looks!

STEP 1: Gather Your Materials

•vegetable oil
•perler beads
•oven safe bowl you want the final product to look like
•oven

STEP 2: Making the Bowl

Pour some vegetable oil into your bowl (base) and spread around with a paper towl. Pour in the perler beads and spread them out by lightly "punching" the center of the pile until it forms a wall. Keep adding beads to your liking.

STEP 3: Baking Time

After you've created your wall of beads inside the bowl it's time to bake it. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Let it bake until the beads look shiny and wet. Once finished take out of the oven (CAREFUL IT WILL BE HOT). If you want to speed up the cooling process you can stick it in the freezer for about 15 minutes(just to be safe)

STEP 4: Finishing Up

Once you've let it cool you should be able to pull the bead bowl out of your oven safe bowl. It might be oily so you can run it under some cool tap water. You can glaze it with so e triple thick or sculpt gloss glaze to give it a shiny look.

What a great little 'ible. Finally one that I know my granddaughter will enjoy! Best of all is simple, doesn't take a lot of time and supplies are things Leftover from other craft projects.

Wow thats really cool! Great job! Im going to do this eventually; i make a ton of perler bead stuff and I need to stop using a bunch of bowls for beads and just make some of these

That is so cool. I definitely have to try it sometime. :-)

Just one extra safety note: Not all oven safe bowls can go straight from the oven to the freezer like that. So check what kind of bowl you have to make sure first. If you are not sure, don't put it in the freezer.

Beads..... Well, they have holes in them. Just saying.

most often you can get them out whike baking (you're melting and fusing them) and secondly not all bowls need to hold fluids.
