Introduction: DIY STYLUS

About: Sophomore Uni Student at SYCET

We've all been there: scrambling through backpack for a pen during a fast-paced lecture. As a uni student who relies on a tablet,I found myself in this situation one too many times. I needed a stylus that was super affordable and effective. In this guide I'll walk you through the simple steps to create your own pocket-friendly stylus

Supplies

Materials Required

  1. Aluminium Foil
  2. Used Pen
  3. Cotton Bud
  4. Cotton Thread

Step 1: Cut the Cotton Bud

First you need to cut the cotton bud in half, the one i had was 2mm in width

Step 2: Placing the Tip

In this step you'll to remove the pen refill from the pen and place the half cut cotton bud inside it.

P.S: make sure that the tip of cotton bud is outside of the pen and not fully inside.

Step 3: Cover the Tip

After the cotton bud is placed inside the pen we need a cover the tip with a good conductor of electricity that is aluminium foil.

Step 4: Securing the Foil Tip

A loose foil tip means a wobbly and unreliable stylus. We need it to be snug! My simple solution was to use a cotton thread to tightly bind the foil at the pen's neck. This creates a firm, secure tip that won't let you down mid-lecture.
