Introduction: DIY Speaker Reusing 3D Filament Spool
Everyone wants the speaker in Room or on the Desk. When you own a 3D printer you deal with an empty filament spool, however not every time throw in the garbage, use for storage or wires reel. Let make the Speaker using an Empty 3D Filament spool.
In this project, Reusing the 3D Filament Spool for making Speaker. Here I use a high-quality speaker with a Bluetooth circuit and some RGB LED strips. This project is very easy to make, hope you enjoy it to make.
The result came out was amazing !!!
Supplies
- Empty 3D Filament spool (22cm outer diameter and 5cm inner diameter).
- RGB LED Strip (1.5 meter).
- Speaker (4 watt). (5cm in diameter)
- Bluetooth Circuit 12v (only 1).
- 7805 IC (only 1).
- DC Jack (only 1). (13mm diameter)
- Switch (only 1). (13mm diameter)
- Arduino pro mini. (only 1).
- 12v adapter (only 1).
- TTL to USB - FT232RL (only 1).
- Wires (multi color).
- 3D printed parts.
Note: Buy Speaker size according to inner diameter of filament spool.
Step 1: Design in Fusion360
Edit Fusion360 (f3d) file according to your requirement. download it below.
Step 2: 3D Print Parts
Print all parts in Transparent filament.
Note: Print Hole Plate - 2 quantity.
Step 3: Paint the Spool
Tips: Coat main color on spool then sprinkle some color on it using brush.
Step 4: Solder Wire
Solder wire of LED Strip, Jack, Switch and Speaker.
Step 5: Drill 13mm Diameter Two Holes at Back of Spool
Drill two holes at back of spool of 13mm diameter.
Check note in image.
Note: Refer above image hole position.
Step 6: Drill 3mm Hole As Shown in Image
Check note in image.
Step 7: Coil Up the LED Strip Inside of Spool and Pass Wire Through 3mm Hole
Check note in image.
Step 8: Stick the Led Strip Inside of Front Side of Spool
Note: Pass Wire Through 3mm Hole
Step 9: Insert Speaker Into Spool
Glue the speaker with spool and speaker should faced front.
Step 10: Insert the DC Jack, Switch and Hole Plate at Back of Spool
Glue the hole plate with spool.
Step 11: Insert Hole Plate at Front of Spool
Glue the hole plate with spool.
Step 12: Upload the Code to Arduino
Connect TTL FT232RL to Arduino pro mini. Then upload the code.
