Halloween Ghost Skull Soldering Decoration Kit

Step 1: SMD Components SOP-8 KT148A Music Chip

Install 1pcs SMD components SOP-8 KT148A Music Chip at U1 on PCB HE026-B.

  1. Verify and confirm the installation direction of KT148A. 
  2. There is a dot mark on one end of the IC and there is a gap mark on PCB silk screen where the IC can place on.
  3. These two marks are corresponding to each other and are used to specify the installation direction of the IC.

Step 2: Melt the Solder

Randomly choose a pad on the PCB, and then melt the solder on this pad.

Step 3: Fix KT148A

Fix KT148A: Use a soldering iron to melt tin on the pad just now and hold KT148A with tweezers in the other hand to place/press on U1 to prevent movement.

  1. Take care to match and align each pads. remove soldering iron.
  2. Then remove tweezers after solder tin cooling and solidification.

Step 4: KT148A

Fix others pads on KT148A by tin and soldering iron.Adjacent pins must not be short circuited.

Step 5: SOT-223 AMS1117-3.3V Voltage Regulator

Install 1pcs SMD components SOT-223 AMS1117-3.3V Voltage Regulator at V2 in the same methods.

Step 6: 1Kohm Metal Film Resistor

Install 5pcs 1Kohm Metal Film Resistor at R14-R18.

Step 7: 100ohm Metal Film Resistor

Install 1pcs 100ohm Metal Film Resistor at R19

Step 8: 1uF(105) Monolithic Capacitor

Install 2pcs 1uF(105) Monolithic Capacitor at C1,C2.

Step 9: 0.1uF(104) Monolithic Capacitor

Install 2pcs 0.1uF(104) Monolithic Capacitor at C5,C6.

Step 10: SS-12F23G5 Toggle Switch

Install 1pcs SS-12F23G5 Toggle Switch at S1 pad.

Step 11: 22uF 16V Electrolytic Capacitor

Install 2pcs 22uF 16V Electrolytic Capacitor at CE3,CE4.

Note: the longer pin is positive pole connect to ‘ + ’ pad.

Step 12: 1mm DC-005 Power Socket

Install 1pcs 5.5*2.1mm DC-005 Power Socket at Power1.

Step 13: Identify the Positive(anode) and Negative(cathode) Lead of LED

Identify the positive(anode) and negative(cathode) lead of LED.

The leads of the LED must be installed correctly, otherwise the LED cannot be turned on.

Here are four methods as following:

  1. According to the length of the LED lead to distinguish. The longer pin is positive(anode) lead. The shorter pin is negative(cathode) lead.
  2. Identify the negative(cathode) of the LED is to look into the plastic case where one can see that the negative(cathode) is much thicker/bigger inside the plastic case than the anode lead.
  3. Identify by edge of plastic case.The negative(cathode) lead of the LED should be the pin nearest the flat on the plastic case.
  4. Test by 3V battery or multimeter.The pin is positive(anode) lead which has connect to the positive of 3V if LED can light up after connect 3V power supply.(LED should not be powered directly from the 3V for a short time:less then 0.5second)
  5. It is positive(anode) where the white mark “ + ” pointing to on PCB.

Step 14: 3mm White LED

Install 49pcs 3mm White LED on PCB another side.

Note: the longer pin is positive pole connect to square pad.

Step 15: 5mm Red LED

Install 2pcs 5mm Red LED.

Note: the longer pin is positive pole connect to square pad.

Step 16: 8ohm 1W Speaker

Connect 8ohm 1W Speaker at LS1.

Wires/pads can be connected arbitrarily.

Step 17: Protective Film

Tear off the protective film on the surface from speaker.

Step 18: Stick the Speaker

 Stick the speaker at the position shown in the picture.

Step 19: SOT-223 AMS1117-3.3V Voltage Regulator

Install 1pcs SMD components SOT-223 AMS1117-3.3V Voltage Regulator at V3 on PCB HE026-A in the same methods.

Step 20: 1Kohm Metal Film Resistor

Install 10pcs 1Kohm Metal Film Resistor at R1-R4,R8-R13.

Step 21: 10Kohm Metal Film Resistor

Install 2pcs 10Kohm Metal Film Resistor at R5-R6.

Step 22: 100ohm Metal Film Resistor

Install 1pcs 100ohm Metal Film Resistor at R7.

Step 23: 0.1uF(104) Monolithic Capacitor

Install 2pcs 0.1uF(104) Monolithic Capacitor at C3,C4.

Step 24: DIP-8 IC Socket

Install 1pcs DIP-8 IC Socket at U2.

There is a gap mark on one end of the IC Socket and there is a gap mark on PCB silk screen where the IC Socket can place on.

These two marks are corresponding to each other and are used to specify the installation direction of the IC Socket.

Step 25:

Install 1pcs TO-92 S8050 Transistor at Q1,Q2.

Pay attention to the installation direction.

The arc on the PCB corresponds to the arc of the components.

Step 26: 22uF 16V Electrolytic Capacitor

Install 2pcs 22uF 16V Electrolytic Capacitor at CE1,CE2.

Note: the longer pin is positive pole connect to ‘ + ’ pad.

Step 27: DIP-8 STC8G1K17A-36I Controller MCU

Install 1pcs DIP-8 STC8G1K17A-36I Controller MCU at U2.

There is a gap mark on one end of the IC and there is a gap mark on IC Socket where the IC can place on.

These two marks are corresponding to each other and are used to specify the installation direction of the IC.

Step 28: 3mm White LED

Install 53pcs 3mm White LED on PCB another side.

Note: the longer pin is positive pole connect to square pad.

Step 29: 5mm Green LED

Install 2pcs 5mm Green LED.

Note: the longer pin is positive pole connect to square pad.

Step 30: Black Button

Install 1pcs 6*6*7mm Black Button at SW1.

Step 31: Copper Pillar

Fix 4pcs M3*15mm Copper Pillar on PCB by 4pcs M3*5mm Screw.

Step 32: Two PCB

Align the installation marking points of two PCB with symbol ‘VCC’,’GND’ and white arrow.

Step 33: M3*5mm Screw

Fix PCB HE026-B on PCB HE026-A by 4pcs M3*5mm Screw.
