Introduction: Decorative Picture and Paper Hanger

I created a decorative picture and paper holder. I wanted a cute place to hang my photos and to-do lists. So I made this to solve that problem.

Supplies

Tools and Materials Needed:

  1. Saw
  2. Pencil
  3. Sandpaper
  4. Small Sawtooth Picture Hangers
  5. 2 1” Nails
  6. 6 1” Screws
  7. Hammer
  8. Tape Measure
  9. Drill
  10. Sanding Sponge
  11. 1 Black Clip
  12. 4 Decorative Screw Fasteners
  13. Super Glue
  14. 1 1x4 21” long piece of wood cut into 3 equal lengths
  15. 1/2” piece of plywood cut into 2 pieces that is 1” wide by 7” long
  16. Same piece of plywood cut into 2” long by 1” wide

Step 1: Measure and Cut

  1. Measure both pieces of wood to appropriate length.
  2. 1x4 21” long piece of wood cut into 3 equal lengths.
  3. 1/2” piece of plywood cut into 2 pieces that is 1” wide by 7” long
  4. Same piece of plywood cut into 2” long by 1” wide
  5. Mark measurements with pencil. (Cut straight across with a straight line.)
  6. Cut all pieces of wood with saw.

Step 2: Sand Wood

  1. Grab wood you just cut and sanding sponge.
  2. Place wood on table and sand.
  3. Make sure all sides are sanded down evenly.

Step 3: Attach the Picture Hanger

  1. Grab one piece of your 21” long piece of wood that was cut into 3 equal pieces.
  2. Grab your plywood that was cut into 2” long by 1” wide.
  3. Grab your small sawtooth picture hanger and two 1” long nails.
  4. Grab your hammer.
  5. Line up your piece of plywood in the middle of the wood.
  6. Then place your small sawtooth picture hanger on the small piece of plywood.
  7. Hammer in the two 1” long nails into the piece of plywood and piece of wood.

Step 4: Attach Plywood

  1. Grab all 3 equally cut pieces from the long piece of wood (1x4 21” long)
  2. Line them up equally spread apart on your table.
  3. Make sure the piece of wood with the sawtooth picture hanger is at the top.
  4. Line up your 1/2” piece of plywood cut into 2 pieces that is 1” wide by 7” long on both sides of the 3 pieces of wood.
  5. Grab your pencil and draw three dots lined up in the center of each piece of wood on the plywood.
  6. Then grab your drill and drill in holes on each of these dots.
  7. After drilling in each hole grab your drill to screw in your six 1” screws.

Step 5: Attach Decor and Clip

  1. Attach the 4 decorative screw fasteners to each corner of the wooden piece by super glue.
  2. Then attach 1 black clip to the center of the wooden piece at the very top with super glue.

Step 6: Decorating

After adding the clip and decorative screw fasteners you can put in your own to-do list in the clip or picture then hang it up on a wall or anywhere you want.
