Intro: Deep Fried Chips Ahoy! Fun Fair Food

It's Fair Season! If your a foodie, you know what that means: fun fair food time! Almost everything at the fair is deep fried, even cookies! So in this recipe I make some deep fried Chips Ahoy cookies! Follow the step by step instructable below or watch the video tutorial here:

STEP 1: Ingredients & Tools

Ingredients

  • 14.25 oz. Chewy Chips Ahoy PB cups Reese’s Cookies
  • Flavorless Oil ( about halfway in a heavy bottomed pan
  • ½ C All-purpose Flour
  • 1 T Sugar
  • ¼ t Baking Powder
  • ½ t Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • ¾ C Milk
  • 1 t Vanilla Extract Flavorless oil Powdered Sugar (to dust the tops of your cookies)

Tools

Cast Iron Dutch Oven or any heavy bottomed Pan

Fish Spatula or fork

misc. bowls or containers

STEP 2: The Dry Ingredients

Start off by heating your flavorless oil in a heavy bottomed pan to about halfway with oil to 375 degrees F.

In a large bowl add in your flour, sugar, baking powder and salt and whisk until they are combined.

STEP 3: Add Wet Ingredients

Add in your egg, ¼ C of milk and vanilla to your dry ingredients and whisk until smooth, you might need to add a bit more milk because you don’t want your batter to be too thick.

STEP 4: Mix the Batter

Mix until everyone is incorporated and your batter is a smooth consistency. Let your batter rest for 5-10 minutes.

STEP 5: Preheat Oil, Dip & Fry Cookies

Once your oil is at 375 degrees F, dip in 4-5 cookies in your batter and put them in the hot oil to fry. Fry about a minute on each side or until they are golden brown.

STEP 6: Remove Fried Cookies From Oil

Pull them out and let them drain on a plate that has been lined with paper towels.

STEP 7: Powder and Enjoy!

Dust your deep fried Chips Ahoy cookies with powdered sugar and prepare to have a fun time with this amazing fair food!
