Introduction: Delicious and Simplistic Sugar Cookies!

Everybody loves sugar cookies. We made them at christmas, for birthdays and many other occasions. The question is, "What is the best sugar cookie recipe that is delicious and extremely easy to make?" I have tried several times to come up with what I believe is the best sugar cookie recipe and I think I have gotten it. I hope everybody thinks so too!

Step 1: The Ingedients You Will Need

To make these cookies you will need:

- 1 3/8 Cups of All-Purpose Flour
- 1 Teaspoon of Bourban Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
- 1/4 Teaspoon of Baking Powder
- 1/2 Cup of Softened Butter
- 3/4 Cup of Cane Sugar
- 1 Egg

***Note- This recipe will make about 21 cookies. You can double, triple or increase the recipe as much as you want to make more cookies. I also recommend that you use ingredients found at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. You do not have to, but I think those stores have the best quality ingredients that will make the cookies taste fantastic!

Step 2: Mixing of the Ingredients

FIRST you need to preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Next you need to place sugar into an electronic mixer with a flat beater. Once you place the sugar in the mixer add softened butter and mix on medium speed. I recommend having the butter sit out of the fridge for 20 to 30 minutes for the best quality softened butter.

In a separate bowl sift together all the dry ingedients.

After you finish that mix the bourban vanilla and egg into the mixer with the sugar and butter mixture. Raise the speed a but on the mixer for this part.

Once you finish that add the dry ingredients slowly to that mixture on a medium speed again.

Step 3: Placement of the Cookies on the Cookie Sheet

Once you have finished mixing all ingedients together it is time to place the cookies onto the cookie sheet. To do this you will need a spoon. You need to fill each spoon with some of the cookie dough. After you do that use that bit of cookie dough and roll it into a ball. Place each ball onto the cookie sheet. They should be about one to two inches apart. The number of cookies per sheet depends on the size of sheet you will be using.

***Note that you do not have to add parchment paper to these cookie sheets. You can, but it is not needed. I used no parchment paper and had no sticking to the sheet.

Once cookies are on the sheet place in the oven for 9 minutes. I got the best results with that time.

Step 4: Taking Them Out of the Oven

When you take them out of the oven use a spoon and lightly push them down with a spoon. It is important you lightly do that! After you have done that let them cool for 15 to 30 minutes on the cookie sheet before decorating. When you take them out of the oven they should look similar to the picture I added above.

Step 5: Decorating of the Cookies!

This is the best part! I really can not tell you how to decorate your cookies. This step is all up to you!

Step 6: Concluding Remarks

Again I really hope you enjoy this recipe. I enjoy making these cookies and eating them is the best part! I really would appreciate comments in the comment section of how your cookies turned out.
