Introduction: Diy FAIL Cookies
Hey momoluvers, it's Momo and today I made a recipe inspired by Cutiepiemarzia's tutorial. She made a tutorial in her 10th episode of 'Marzia's Time' on cookies. She said hers didn't turn out how she wanted, so I decided to make my own version. If you want to watch Marzia's version of this tutorial, check out her video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwfBx2RPj-Y
Step 1: Supplies
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
1. 1 cup flour
2. 1 tsp baking powder
3. 2 eggs
4. 2 tsp. Vanilla
5. 2 tbsp. Butter
6. 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Step 2: Dry Stuff
Put the flour and the baking powder into a medium sized bowl and whisk lightly to combine.
Step 3: Eggs
Crack one egg into a bowl and whisk.
Crack another and whisk again. If needed use a paddle spatula.
Step 4: The Sweets
Add vanilla, granulated sugar, and 1tbsp softened butter. Mix with the spatula
Step 5: Knead It! Knead It Real Good!
Knead the dough with your hands. At this point, it should be a thick dough that bounces back. Unfortunately, I did something wrong and the dough was more of a cake batter, but it'll still taste good!
Step 6: Baking
Line a cooking pan with parchment paper and pipe well kneaded balls onto the pan. Bake for about 12-14 minutes.
Step 7: Frosting
When done, top the cookies with any kind of frosting you like. I chose Nutella, because DUH!
Step 8: Finished!
That's it! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. All of us mess up sometimes and I think mistakes and flaws should be celebrated, not hidden! Let me know if y'all try this, and if it turns out better;)

The order the ingredients were mixed in will really affect the final product, I wonder if that's why yours fell.
With cookie dough, usually you would mix dry ingredients separately from liquid. standard order is to beat cold or room temp butter with sugar (This is called creaming), add eggs and vanilla, beat until fluffy, then sift in dry ingredients. Typically you avoid over mixing once flour is added, because mixing creates gluten which is great for bread, but not for cookies and cakes which you want to be tender. I suppose if they're meant to be like bread, you could try kneading them but you might change your order of ingredients if you try it again.

Wow! This was extremely helpful. I think I've established before that the only thing I can really bake are French macarons ;) I will attempt this again and see how they turn out!

looking at this recipe, I think the ratios are off. For a bread-like dough, this is not enough flour for 2 eggs.
it's also missing salt. for baking you want unsalted butter (it tastes better, and you get to control the amount of salt). a small amount of salt in sweet naked goods enhances the flavor.

I agree with the other posters - the method is wrong, and the ration of liquid to dry ingredients is also off.
