Domino Rally Fails and How to Prevent Them

When many people think of dominoes, they think of the game with little dots on the white tiles. That is not what I'm talking about in this article. I'm talking about domino rallies, the ones that you set up on edge, and then knock down, making a very cool show.

Setting up domino rallies are difficult things... they take up time and energy. What's most demoralizing about this is when you mess up, or someone knocks your dominoes down, and your whole thing is knocked over. How do you prevent this from happening? Look at the steps below to find out.

Step 1: How Failing Works

So as you can see, this can be very frustrating when trying to set up dominoes. How do you do this the right way? Look at the next step.

Step 2: How to Prevent Failing

So how did I do this? Well, this is done by gaps in between the dominoes. Let's say that you had a long line of dominoes, and they got knocked over by your elbow. The whole thing would topple over, right? If you put breaks in between your dominoes, and you bumped it with your elbow, then only a little bit of dominoes would fall down, the ones up until the break. Look at the above picture. The dominoes are separated so if you accidentally knocked it over, then the whole thing wouldn't topple. Of course, there is a little risk involved. When you are done with your project, you have to fill in the gaps, which can be a little difficult. Here is a quick video of what I mean:

Other tips on how to not fail setting up dominoes:
Always plan ahead: think about where your dominoes are going to be set up.

Never make a gap of dominoes when you know you can't eventually fill it in.

To make your domino rally more interesting, try to involve other things instead of just dominoes (marbles, hot wheels, string, etc.)
