Introduction: Dual Sanitation Station (Customizable)

About: Just a student who loves cardboard, foam, and DIY! Currently working on ODM Gear from Attack on Titan.

This project combines wet wipes and tissues into one colorful cardboard container. This design is very flexible, and easily customizable.

Also, I am a student, for the judges. I'm 16, in 11th grade at Mother of Devine Grace school.

Supplies

CARDBOARD

TISSUES AND WIPES

GLUE (I used Tacky Glue, but white glue will work.)

SCISSORS/BOXCUTTER

RULER

TAPE

PENCIL

MARKERS (For decoration, optional)

SCRATCH PAPER

DESK COVER (I used a sewing mat)

Step 1: Measure Tissues and Wipes

Use your ruler to measure the dimensions of the tissues and wipes.

Also measure the openings as well.

Carefully mark down these measurements on your scratch paper.

I round my measurements up to 1/4 of an inch.

Step 2: Design Bottom

Use you paper to figure out the dimensions of your box.

Next use your ruler and pencil to sketch the design onto the cardboard.

Carefully cut the shape out, leaving a small lip around the edge.

Remember! If you leave extra, you can always cut it off.

Step 3: Design Walls

For the walls of the box, add a 1/2 inch of height to form a lip.

Cut the cardboard in the same way as the bottom.

This lip will be glued beneath the bottom.

Step 4: Glue Walls

Add a medium amount of glue along the lip.

Press down the bottom on the walls and Wait for it to dry.

Step 5: Add Tape (Optional)

To keep the walls upright, I use small strips of duct tape.

This is optional.

Step 6: Design Other Walls

Measure out the second pair of walls, once again with an extra 1/2 inch of height.

However to avoid overlap with the first walls, cut out a small corner from each side of the lip. this allows all walls to mesh together.

Step 7: Attach Other Walls

Glue the walls in the same manner.

I also attached the tape here.

Step 8: Set It Up

Now we'll set up out tissues and wipes inside the box.

For me, the wipes were smaller, so I used a bit of scrap cardboard to prop it up.

Step 9: Tape Walls

Now that the cargo is secure, we can seal the corners with some more tape.

Step 10: Designing the Lid

The lid will have the same dimensions as the bottom, except 1 inch longer.

I made the longer side 1 inch longer.

Cut this remaining length off either side, leaving only a small tab, as seen above.

Now cut a notch for this tab in the walls of the box.

When finished, the lid should be firm and locked in place, but removable.

Step 11: Finishing the Lid

Now, use measurements of the openings to make holes in the lid.

For the wipes, leave plenty of space to access the flap.

Step 12: Decorations

Now use some markers to make it pretty!

I added some simple multi-colored outlines to each side, but let your imagination run free!

So yeah... That's it! You can pop off the lid to swap out whatever necessary. Enjoy.
