Introduction: Dual Screen Monitors Setup

Background Research of the components
The VGA cable is a video adapter also an expansion card or component that provides the ability to convert display information into a signal that is sent to the monitor. HDMI, High-Definition Multimedia Interface, support the connection between a device such as a cable box and flat-screen HDTV. The VGA (analog) is old version type of cable replacing the new version HDMI and Display Port (digital) cable. To get started you need computers with open port, second monitor. It is optional to choose HDMI card and to VGA adapter.

Step 1: : the Cable Input and Computer Output

Port (Left) and VGA cable which is replaced by HDMI cable because the new version provides improved/superior image quality. When you purchase a new Desktop computer the VGA and Display Port come with it. The display port costs under $9.00 on Amazon.

The back of the computer locate the VGA, HDMI, VGA and Display Port cable.

Step 2: Step 2: Insert the VGA and Display Port Cable Into the Monitors Port

Here the Display Port and VGA inserted in the back of the monitor port.

Plug the Display Port and VGA adapter to the primary computer using supported connectors.

Plug the secondary monitors to the computer using remaining connection available on the computer

The VGA and Display Port cable are attached to the port of the two monitors

Step 3: Step 3: Plug the VGA Adapter and Display Port Cable to the Computer Port

The display port and VGA are attached as you see the Ethernet cord in blue as well the keyboard and mouse adapters.

The Display Port cable from the second monitor is connected to the computer.

Step 4: Step 4: Turn on the Computer and the Monitors

Turn on the connected monitors and computer.

Desktop 1 enables the workspace only on the primary monitor and disables the second monitor vice versa for both. Sometimes when you turn on the monitors and PC, the monitors stay off dark, double check the connectors.

Step 5: Step 5: Right Click the Mouse From Desktop

Go to Display Settings

On the screen select Display Settings, (for the Windows 7 it will be Screen Display)

Click the Multiple displays drop-down and choose your desired display type.

Step 6: Step 6: Configuring the Monitors

Right-Click the desktop and select Display Settings.

Select which the two monitors you want to be the Main Display.

Settings Display the computer monitor icon.

Scroll down for multiple display.

Click the square box with number 1 and 2, then drag the square box to configure the display position of your choice.

When you’re not sure about which monitor to display, click Identify.

Step 7: Step 7: Extending the Desktop From the Primary to the Display Selected

Duplicate the displays show a mirror image desktop 1 to desktop 2

You can extend these displays expands the work area across both monitors and allows different application to be displayed on either.
