Intro: Duct Tape Window Insulation

I currently live in a rented apartment and the windows in my living room are not sealed, so during the cold weather months they became a prime spot for energy loss. Leaking problem is from loose fitting window sashes. I think duct tape can be easily installed around the edge and frame of the window. So let`s create this barrier between the outdoor air and the inside of my home, helping block air leaks that lead to high heating costs.

STEP 1:

Open the window. Wash surface of sashes and frame of the window and give them enough time to dry completely.

STEP 2:

Install duct tape on the frame of the window.

STEP 3:

Close the window. Install duct tape on the edge and frame of the window.

STEP 4:

Finally put some decoration with little plants.

I wonder how it would work if you used thin weather stripping and then sealed the edges with duck tape...hmmm Good idea you have.
