Introduction: Caged Skeleton

About: I like to learn new things. I really enjoy it. Learning makes me feel alive.

Another Pinterest project that I hade to figure out how to make.

I work in a factory so that gives my access to infinity supply of recyclable materials. That's how this project started.

Supplies

  • Old pallet
  • plastic chain
  • Plastic skull
  • Acrylic paint (red and green)
  • Moss
  • Heat gun
  • Black spray paint
  • Skeleton hands
  • Led lights (Optional)

Step 1: So It Begins

I grabbed a pallet from work and the spacing was wrong so I filled the gaps with some planks that I had laying around from my fence.

I started printing the chain but it was taking too long so I asked at work if I could borrow some. I knew they hade cause I see it around all the time.

Step 2: Bones

I've been collecting bones for a while now and this year I purchased two more sets at the Dollar store. Here is all my stach in full glory.

Step 3: Let Me Out!!

I attached the skull and the hands using the glue gun. Patience is needed during this step. Hold it tight until the glue is cold.

Step 4: In to the Woods

I can't buy all that fancy supplies that I see on tv but I live on the country side so I went out and lucky me I found the right spot. I ended up with a whole bag!!!

Step 5: Paint the Chains

Well, this is the before and after of the plastic chains. The paint job is not perfect but I ended up turning back the light side of the chains.

Step 6: Paint It Red

I used acrylic paint to make the hand impressions.

I used the assistance of my unwilling collaborator with smaller hands.

Step 7: Almost Done

I used screws on the side of the pallet to fasten the chain.

I added green color to emulate dirt and decay, but I have to leave it out so the elements can do their magic.

Step 8: Light It Up

I used a set of led lights that I purchased at the dollar store cause it gets really dark out here.
