Introduction: Easy DIY Vegetable Harvester.

This device makes harvesting hard to reach vegetables in the garden easy and fun as well as being perfect to help teach kids about farming.

!!! = This step requires ADULT SUPERVISION

Supplies

  1. Plastic Cup (Does not have to be clear).
  2. Cardstock Paper (Any color works).
  3. Paper Cutters (I used a circle cutter tool however scissor work as a alternative).
  4. Wooden Skewers (I used 4, however you can add more to increase the range).
  5. Hot Glue (Theoretically super glue could work but I would recommend hot glue).

Step 1: Prepare to Cut

Take your plastic cup and trace a circle around it on the cardstock.

Step 2: Make the Cut

!!! Cut out the circle from the cardstock.

Step 3: Mark Next Cuts

This step is optional, you could just eyeball the cut however if you would like to mark your circle with the same starlike pattern shown above.

Step 4: Make the Last Cut

!!! Use your scissors to cut out along the dashed line, be careful not to cut all the way to the end of the circle.

Step 5: Hot Glue Time

!!! Hot glue the paper circle to the top of the plastic cup.

Step 6: Finish the Device

!!! Take your wooden skewers and hot glue them to the sides of the cup then together on the other end.

Step 7: Have Fun Harvesting

Go to the garden and get harvesting!
