Introduction: Easy Dorm Room Taco Bowl

Hello! Welcome to Dorm Room Cooking. I am a college student with a mediocre dining hall who has had to learn to make nutritious and tasty meals in my dorm room using minimal supplies.

Supplies

For this recipe, I used a rice cooker, an air fryer, and a microwave.

Step 1: Getting Started

To begin, I got together my ingredients: flour tortillas, one can of black beans, a container of firm, ready-to-eat tofu, an avocado, some taco seasoning, cheese, and your favorite assortment of vegetables.

Step 2: Prepare the Tofu

First I drained my tofu and patted it dry with a paper towel.

Step 3: Making the Rice

Then, I added one cup of jasmine rice to 1 and 1/4 cups of water in my rice cooker and set it up in the cooker for about 30 minutes.

Step 4: Taco "meat"!

Then, I returned to my tofu. I cut it into bite-size cubes and sprinkled my taco seasoning on top. The tofu can also be crumbled for a consistency more like taco meat. Then, I flipped the pieces and seasoned the other side before putting them into the air fryer. I set my tofu up to cook for 10 minutes on 380º, but depending on the air fryer more or less time may be necessary. I recommend checking it every 3-5 minutes until cooked to taste.

Step 5: Last Ingredients

Next, I cut my avocado and microwaved my black beans for 2 one minute intervals, stirring in between.

Step 6: Put It Together!

Finally, I put everything together!
