Introduction: Easy Hand Heaters
These hand heaters are SEW easy and SEW versatile. You can change the fabric out, add rice or beans... either way these only take a few minutes to make. They are a must when cold weather comes around.
Supplies
Two 3x3 in. squares of fabric.
Sewing machine
Thread
1/2 cup dry rice
Funnel
Step 1: Cut Out Your Squares of Fabric.
Cut fabric to measure roughly 3x3 in. I would recommend to cut your squares out at the same time so they will be the same size.
Step 2: Sew Around the Border of Your Squares, Leaving 1 Inch Not Sewn.
Before sewing, stack fabric good side to good side. When its done the good side of the fabric will be seen. Sew stitch a 1/2 in from fabric edge. Leave an inch not sewn so you can flip the fabric to hide stitch.
Step 3: Flip the Fabric Through the 1 Inch Hole You Left.
When flipping the fabric be gentle to not tear any stitches.
Step 4: Fill Pouch With Rice.
Put 1/2 to 3/4 cup full of rice depending on how full you would like.
Step 5: Stitch Hole Up.
You can either hand stitch, which will be more pretty, or use your machine, which will leave the stitch showing.
Step 6: When Ready to Use Heat Up for 1 Minute Increments, Until As Hot As You Would Like.
Enjoy!
