Introduction: Easy Homemade Coconut Lotion Gift!

This is an easy homemade whipped coconut lotion that will make your skin feel light and healthy!

Step 1: Gather Ingredients

-Organic Coconut Oil (not liquid form)

-Vitamin E Oil

-Your favorite Aromatherapy fragrance (you can combine multiple fragrances for an even more personalized lotion! If making this as a gift, pick fragrances you think the receiver of the gift might enjoy!)

You can find all these ingredients down your local store's Vitamin isle. All of these ingredients cost about $20, and can make 10-15 8oz bottles of lotion.

Step 2: Measure Out Ingredients

1 c. Organic Coconut Oil

1 tsp. Vitamin E oil

A few drops of your favorite fragrance, about 3-4 (Be careful! Don't add too many drops or your lotion will be too strong!)

Step 3: Mix

You will want to mix your ingredients in a plastic bowl. This plastic bowl will help your oil to not melt while mixing. Mix for 6-8 minutes.

Step 4: Whipped Ending

You will start to notice that your lotion will have a whipped consistency. This is good! You want your lotion to be airy and light. Don't over mix though! You could cause the coconut oil to start to melt, and your lotion will be ruined.

Step 5: Refridgerate!

Refridgerate your lotion for about 20-25 minutes after mixing. This will allow any melting that has begun to stop, and allow your lotion to form.

Step 6: Packaging

Find either an empty Mason jar or an empty plastic 8oz travel size lotion container. These can be found at the dollar store or in your local store's body care isle!

Step 7: Testing

Before applying this lotion to your whole body, test a small portion of it on your forearm to make sure that you aren't allergic to any of the ingredients. If a rash or hives start to erupt, remove lotion immediately and wash the area with warm water and soap. Call a doctor if symptoms worsen.

Step 8: Gifting As Easy As ...1...

This homemade lotion will make the perfect gift for anyone!

1) To add a personalized touch to your jar, spray paint it or paint with acrylics the initials of the person you are gifting it to...

Step 9: ...2...

2) {this step is optional} Cut a 6 inch ribbon and curl it with the scissors and tie around the jar.

Step 10: ...3...!!

3) Write a personalized note to the person you are gifting this to! Remember the fragrances your chose and explain to them in the note why you chose these fragrances for them!

Finished! You are finished with this DIY project! Give yourself a pat on the back!
