Ever wanted one of those thick banded leather bracelets that your friends have? Here is an easy way to make one with only a few "things" laying around your house.

Step 1: Assemble the "things"

First we need to gather all of the "things" that we will need to make this bracelet. An awl, for punching holes in leather, an old leather belt, about 9 inches off the end with holes in it (the more distressed the better) and a cufflink from that suit you never wear anymore.

Step 2: Punch Your Holes

Measure the distance of your wrist of wherever the band will be going, be sure to leave a little wiggle room. I measured approx 8.5 in. Punch a hole approx 1/2 in from the edge on the end that does not have any holes and make the hole large enough for the cufflink to fit through. Be certain not to punch the hole to close to the edge as the leather will stretch over time and possible rip.

Step 3: Fitting the Cufflink

Using the cufflink that you have, I found a stainless steel one that has a swivel bit on the end so the leather will stay secure on my wrist, slide the cufflink through the hole that you punched from the underside so the flat end is touching your skin.

Step 4: Enjoy and Adapt!

All done. Use this information and make your own version maybe add a watch to it, or even emboss the leather with a cool design.
