Make a beautiful embroidery piece to bring color to your walls. This is a great project for beginners to learn embroidery. It's super simple and easy.

Step 1: Supplies

You will need the following for this project:

Embroidery Hoop (Plastic or wooden)
Pencil or washable marker
Scissors
Eraser
Embroidery Needle
Embroidery Floss Multiple Colors (Six Strand)
Fabric (Yellow or beige makes the colors stand out best)

Step 2: Sketch

Once you have your supplies, you have to sketch out your hand and flowers.

TIPS:

Use a SHARP pencil to sketch.. Trust me, you do not want to use a dull one. I learned that the hard way.
Pull the fabric tight when you do this. If you don't, it won't come out as clean.
Try to erase any mess up pencil lines.

Step 3: Thread Your Needle + Set Up Your Fabric on Your Hoop

Next, you have to thread your needle with your first color, black six strand embroidery floss. Then, you have to set up your fabric on the embroidery hoop.

Step 4: Hand

To embroider your hand, use your black thread and needle and stitch along the pencil lines for the hand. Start from the back of the piece and use backstitch for you stitch. Step 5: Fern

Next, you need to thread your needle with any shade of six strand green floss. You'll use two different stitches for the fern.

Stem- Backstitch
Leaves- Lazy Daisy

Step 6: Stems

Now, you have to do the other two stems of the flowers. Use all six strands of your floss. For this, again, you need to use the backstitch technique. Hopefully, you should be pretty familiar with this stitch by now.

Step 7: Flower

For this next step, I'm using a peachy color for the flowers. You can thread your needle with thread of your choice. BUT, pull your 6 strand thread into 3 strands. This will make it much easier to embroider this part of the piece. The stitch you will use for the flower is backstitch, again. Try not to make your stitches big, make them tighter together.

Step 8: Wild Flower

Now, for the somewhat tricky part. Gather three different shades of purple. Thread your needle with the lightest of the three and work up with darker purples. You don't have to pull your strand into 3 this time. Leave your floss the way it is. Follow the picture as you do this. You will be using a short and long stitch.
