Introduction: Embroidered Sweatshirt
For this project, I made an embroidered sweatshirt in the Wisconsin "W" out of different embroidered flowers!
Supplies
Fabric of choice (hoodie)
Needle
Embroidery Thread
Embroidery Hoop
Scissors
Step 1: Gather Materials
Gather all desired materials including:
Fabric embroidered on (hoodie, tshirt, etc)
Embroidery Hoop
Needle
Embroidery Thread
Embroidery Hoop
Scissors
Step 2: Prepare Hoop on Fabric
As seen in the linked video:
- Taking the embroidery hoop, loosen the screw to separate the inner hoop from the outer
- Place on fabric and slide inner hoop back into outer and tighten with screw
Step 3: Thread Needle
As seen in the linked video:
- Taking the needle and desired thread color, put the thread through the hoop and tie in a knot
Step 4: Draw Design on Fabric
Draw the desired design (if applicable) to follow when embroidering
Step 5: Choose Stitch Type
Depending on the design, different stitches are used
As used in my project, a running stitch and also basic daisy flower stitch were used!
Step 6: Start Stitching Following Design
Following your guide, enter the needle through the fabric and secure with a knot at the end, then go in and out of the fabric to begin your stitch
Step 7: Cut Thread and Switching
In order to switch colors if needed, tie a knot and cut the thread
Step 8: Rethreading
Rethread the needle as in step 3 to switch colors and continue!
