Introduction: Erosion Testing Model
This is an erosion-testing model to help you understand how to prevent erosion and how it works. (DISCLAIMER THIS PROJECT WAS CREATED BY A TWELVE YEAR OLD WHO GOES MIDDLE SCHOOL IN WASHINGTON) (For safety reasons I cannot disclose my real name or school.)
Supplies
Garden soil, tin lasagna/casserole pan, scissors, marker, cup, water, something to prop the tin up at a forty-degree angle, and materials to test your erosion prevention with (not in photo).
Step 1: Trace the Exit Hole
This is where the dirty dirt-water will drain out of.
Step 2: Cut the Exit Hole
Well there's not really anything to be explained, just cut around the lines!
Step 3: Load the Dirt
Dump the dirt in
Step 4: Shape the Dirt
Step 5: Pour the Water
Watch as the soil is eroded, and make observations.
Step 6: Revise
Use household items to try to prevent the erosion of the soil.
