Introduction: Evil Brussel Sprout Eyes for Halloween

Looking for a vegetable dish that won't bore the family? How about brussel sprouts? How about evil diabolical brussel sprouts? How about a vegetable that DARES YOU to eat it?

Ingredients:

All you need is a bunch of brussel sprouts

olive oil

salt and pepper to taste

garlic powder (optional)

large black pitted olives (about one olive per 4 brussel sprouts)

Step 1: Wash and Prepare Brussel Spouts

Wash the brussel sprouts and trim the ends.

Step 2: Cut a Slit in Each Brussel Sprout

Cut a slit in each brussel sprout but do not go all the way through. Cut at most half way down.

Step 3: Toss With Olive Oil and Bake

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a bowl, toss the brussel sprouts with olive oil (about a tablespoon for each 2 cups)

Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste or try garlic salt (yum!!!) and toss

Place brussel sprouts on a shallow pan and bake for 30-40 minutes, turning or tossing after 20 minutes.

Rest until it is cool enough to touch.

Step 4: Cut Olives Into Quarters or Sixths

While brussel sprouts are roasting, take out the large black olives, preferably pitted (or pit them yourself).

You will need about 1 olive for every 4 brussel sprouts.

Cut the olive in half and then cut the half piece of olive into thirds so you have about 6 olive wedges.

Step 5: Open Brussel Sprout Slit and Stuff With Olive Wedge

Open up the slit in the middle of a brussel sprout.

Take one olive wedge and place it inside and push until it is wedged inside.

Serve.
