Introduction: FIRST AID Shot Wound Trainer for Hemostatic Dressing (wound-packing)

About: in case of questions in your head ask

Purpose of this project was to build a cheap solution for gun wound simulation for first aid. First aid is very important and proper training saves lifes. Because many trainers are too costy for most instructors I want to share this solution with as much people as possible. QuicClot and other Combat Gauze is used for wounds in the body which can't be controlled by putting on a tourniquet or just by pressing against the artery. inorganic mineral that accelerates the body’s natural clotting ability This kind of bandage helps the blood to get clogged faster in the wound. But this is just working, when applied correctly. So training is very important.

People who want to achieve a very good looking mid cost simulator should use the 2k silicone which is around 30 Euro. If you need to safe money you can also use some silicone from your local supply store. Like silikone for your bath. This silicone needs some more time to dry and will "dry" by adding moisture to the silicone. But this should also work with this mold, because it is partly opened. 3d printing or wax If you are able to produce a more natural looking wound through 3D printing please let me now. Up to now the wax is the better solution for a good shape.

Please show me your results.

This is a work in progress. I will add some pictures soon.

Step 1: Building of the Mold

Drill a hole in one of the side parts (needed for the pipe)

Glue with the hotstick gun the 4 side parts on the base of the mold.

Seal the corners with glue

put in the pipe

Step 2: Building the Negative Shot Wound

For this part you can use some dirt knete or wax.

In my case I used the wax from 3 candles, heated it and filled it in a egg holder, because of the shape.

Form it into a conical shape with a wavy shape

Step 3: 3D Print It (if Available)

left one is 3d printed

right one is crafted from wax

see the attached stl file for printing the wax model

Step 4: Put the Negative Form Into the Mold

fix it with some nails or glue it in with wood

Step 5: Silicone

Fill your mold with silicone.

In my case I used a 2k 50:50 Silicone

just fill it in the right concentration into a cup, stirr it and pour it into the mold.

There are different mixtures available.

Step 6: Finished Mold

After 2 hours (depends on your mixture) you can break up the mold and take your finished part out.

With the metal pipe in it you can cut bigger holes in the bottom of our hole, so the hole reaches the pipe.

Afterwards you can take the pipe out and insert a silicone pipe (optional).

Step 7: Finished Let's Fill It Up for Training
