Introduction: Farm Animals Collection

These cute little farm animals make a perfect project for any one to do.                                                                                                      They also make nice desk buddies to help you while you work

Step 1: The Pig

To make the pig you will need pink and black clay (I use Scupley)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     From the pink clay make:                                                                                                                                                                            1 large ball (for the body)                                                                                                                                                                         4  small, flat cylinders (for the legs)                                                                                                                                                            1 medium sized ball (for the head)                                                                                                                                                           1 small circle (for the snout)                                                                                                                                                                     2 small triangles (for the ears)                                                                                                                                                                    1 small curly tail                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              From the black clay, make two small dots for the eyes.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Put the 4 small cylinders on the bottom of the body and press them against it. This will hold them on as well as flattening them slightly, to make them look more like legs.                                                                                                                                        Press the snout onto the front of the head. Press something small and circular into it to make nostrils. I used the end of a paintbrush, but a pencil or any thing similar will work just as well .  Gently press the ears onto the head. To help them stick, use a thin flat object to spread the clay from the ears onto the head slightly.                                                                                                             Put the head onto the body by pressing it gently. Put the tail on the other end.                                                                                    Tip:   Make sure the pig isn't too front heavy or else he will fall over. To avoid this, make the head smaller.                                                                                                                                                                                                             Check your clay packet for directions on how long to cook the pig for.

Step 2: The Cow

To make the cow you will need white and black clay (I use Scupley)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            From the white clay make:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  1 large, rounded cylinder (for the body)                                                                                                                                                  4 cylinders (for the  legs)                                                                                                                                                                         1 medium ball (for the head)                                                                                                                                                                                                          2 small semi-circles (for the ears)                                                                                                                                                                                                         1 small, thin sausage (for the tail)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           From the black clay, make several flat splodges of varying sizes.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Lay 3 or 4 black splodges on the body and roll them on a hard surface until they mould into the white clay. Do this with all the limbs and the head.  Attach the legs onto the bottom of the body by gently pressing them. Put the ears onto the head and attach by spreading a small amount of the clay at the base of the ears. Gently press the eyes onto the head. Press the head onto the body and attach the tail at the opposite end.  Look for direction on your clay packet on how long to cook the cow for.

Step 3: The Chicken

To make the chicken, you will need brown, orange, white and straw coloured clay.                                                                                                                                                                                                                        From the brown clay, make:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     A small ball (for the head)                                                                                                                                                                       A larger, slightly pointed ball (for the body)                                                                                                                                              From the straw coloured clay, make a flat circle. This will form the nest.                                                                                          From the white clay, make 3 small balls. These will be the eggs.                                                                                                       From the orange clay, make a triangle for the beak.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Attach the beak to the head by pressing gently on the edges of the beak.  Put 2 small black dots above it for the eyes. Gently press the head onto the body. Using the end of a pencil or something similar, etch in a wing on either side of the body. Use the same tool to make lines all over the straw coloured circle on both sides. This will help make it look more like straw. Fold the straw circle into a basket shape and put the white eggs into it. Put the chicken onto this.                                                                                                                                                                                                           Check your clay packet for instruction of cooking the chicken to harden it.
