Introduction: Faux Gold Ring From a Brass Nut
I Made my first Ring with a Stone inlay. inspired by Pablo Cimadevila
Step 1: Material
I Started off with a brass fitting, a cap nut and a blue topas stone
Step 2: Size Them Down
I used a hacksaw and Sandpaper to get a workable sice. Next i screwed the nut on and put in in the handdrill chuck. This made it a lot better to sand and file down to a good sice. And i added a little ledge to solder it to the ring later.
Step 3: Solder
I only had a small torche at hand which made it hard to solder. Because it melted the flux, but till it was hot enough to solder there was already some oxides as you see :D.
Step 4: Shaping
Now i got to the shaping. I Carved it round with my trusty Aliexpress (Dremmel) and made 3 Arms wich later should hold down the Stone. Sadly the Material Broke at two of them so i later had to remove them completely.
Step 5: Polishing
Now i polished the ring again with Sandpaper first and then with the multitool.
Step 6: Finishing Up
This step should be placing the stone and bending the arms over... now its glueing the stone in.

I believe that the finishing of Pablo Cimadevila's nut ring is a little better (also he made very good photos of it). But you did an exellent work, and to be honest, I prefer your ring that is more, how to say, "living".
