STEP 1: My Tackle Bag

My Tackle bag (and yours too now) consists of
1-25lb scale-$5
Trilene 14lb test line-$5
7 packages of various ZOOM Finesse worms-$35 (you only need 1) $5 each
Colors-
watermelon red
June bug red
kiwi
June bug
red bug shad
red bug (the color the big one was caught off of) FAVORITE
Measuring tape-$5
Snacks-1c-2,000,000,000,000,000
3/8 oz. egg sinkers$2
needle nose pliers-$5
size 1/0 or 2/0 lazer sharp hooks with offset-$4
water
toenail clippers for cutting line

and reel in slowly while you bounce the end of your rod up and down.

I'm not sure if you've ever tried it, but drop shoting during the spawn is very effective. If you take a 6" zoom lizard, and drop that sucker right on the bed they will inhale it and spit it out, but since your weight is on the bottom you can bring it back through again and again. This will aggravate them enought to bite and boom, you've got 'em

nice i use an open cast rod, 60 pound low visibility green braid, and a whole 11 set of floating assorted plastic frogs it works almost all the time i have caught so many bass and they are pretty big, if you want to go catch loads of bass just hop on your boat and drive to a heavily weeded area nice tutorial dude

Niether of those are trilene, and I use Trilene XT 14 Lb. for big fish (and I mean BIG fish) or Fireline 8/10 Lb.

thats the thing though about trilene, for every ok batch of trilene, there are 4 bad batches. for me, when i fish im putting money on the line and can't take that risk, which is why even though im sponsored by berkely and am given all that stuff for free, i still use the higher end products.

Yes, That is why I normally use Fireline, but the batch of Trilene 14 I have works great.

the other way to use a drop shot is to tie a 3 way swivel to your line, then clip the excess off, then add more line coming off the one parallell to it, and then tie the weight (it is called a weight when you use a drop shot,) onto the last one so it points down, and use lighter line on the weight section than on the rod to swivel and swivel to lure section so it will be easier to break off if need be so you will not lose a lure or the entire assembly.

the only reason that rig was created is because it is illegal in Michigan to have a weight behind the hook on the same line.

Yes, but I am sure there is a much higher amount of people on this site who do not live in michigan than those that do.

exactly so they can just use a normal dropshot, and tie one knot that you know wont slip because its continuos. or be like you and tie 2 more unnecesarry knots and worry about your knot slipping when you get a fish.

Not to put your way down, but I believe you're supposed to use a bullet sinker.

not really, it depends on the bottom, egg sinkers dont get hung up in rocks as much as bullet sinkers. the only thing he needs to do is peg the weight. you should only not peg it when useing a carolina rig so that the fish can pick up the lure and run with it without feeling the weight, and thats when you use a bead, to protect the knot from the sinker.
