Step 2: Body Design/Body Construction

First, make sure to a cutting mat to cut on. Now measure out the battery pack and where the motors will be attached to the battery pack. It is important to get these measurements correct and the same on both sides. Make sure that part of the motor is poking out of the foam so that you have a little space. Now, cut out the foam sides, and bottom. Now glue the battery pack onto the foam. Next, glue the receiver to the back of the battery pack. Now cut slots for the motors to poke out of and glue the motors the sides of the battery pack. Now assemble the 3 sides (back left and right) to the foam that the battery pack and motors are on. Now cut the top and bottoms pieces and leave them unattached.

Step 3: Electronics Wiring/electronics Placement

In this robot design, you need some wiring in order to make everything work. You need three servos, a battery pack and a receiver to make the robot do what you put into the remote. First, you need a soldering iron and solder to attach the wiring from the battery pack to the wiring of the receiver. Then you plug in all three servos in the first three spots on the receiver and the battery pack into the last spot on the receiver. Then you turn the battery pack and remote control on and make sure that the whole system works. Then you attach the servos to each side of the bottom foam core piece for the wheels. Place the battery pack into the middle of the bottom piece of the foam core and put the receiver on top of it. Then put the third servo in front of the battery pack for the weapon. Glue all of these down onto the foam core before you put the whole body together.

Step 4: Wheel/weapon Mounting

To mount the wheels to the servo you just use hot glue and force it onto the spinning part of the servo. It does not seem like the best method but it worked. Then you glue some 1-inch long popsicle sticks to the front part of the bottom (just break the popsicle sticks) of the robot so it stays upright and doesn't drag in the front when you're driving. To mount the weapon you glue one large lego gear to the front servo. Then you attach two more large lego gears to a gear holder lego beam and one small one to the end. You use a long axel for the small gear so you can attach the spinner weapon to it. You then glue the lego gear beam to the top part of the robot so it lines up with the gear attached to the front servo. Then you attach the metal beam to the long axel using spacers and hot glue then you attach the exacto blades to the end of the metal beam with hot glue. This completes your weapon.

Step 5: Remote Control

We used a T6A-V2 electronic transmitter to control our robot. We used the left side to control our weapon and the right side to control the movement. The gearing of the servo made the controls sideways to left side was forward, the right side was back, down was left and up was right, so we had to hold the transmitter sideways.
