Introduction: Foosball Table Made From Upcycled EPALs

Currently, there are over 600 million EPALs (Euro-Pallets) worldwide, which are used to store and transport all kinds of products. However, when these wear out, they are usually burned to be used as energy for heating. These pallets which are no longer in use could, on the other hand, be upcycled into new products, such as street furniture. This would not only be a more sustainable use for old pallets, but also provide cheap and suitable wooden building materials for designers.

In this design project, I decided to create a foosball table made only from wood from left over EPALs. Please note that the design does not use full pallets, and rather uses the pieces that make up a pallet. This means that EPALs would first have to be taken apart to create this foosball table. Also, while the sticks and players could be made out of the pallets as well, it would be much quicker to use other materials for them.
